| Appearance | Candice has kept her old clothing meant for travel in single-digit and subzero temperatures. All of what she wears is made of either wool or synthetic material, and is layered for insulation and protection against wind and snow. Her current outfit is a parka (thermal clothing is layered underneath, alternating loose and tight-fitting), insulated boots, a face mask paired with a thick woolen scarf, woolen mittens, snow pants, and dark glasses for protection from the reflection of sunlight off of snow. Candice is fairly tall at her height of six feet, and has a muscular frame due to her adherence to physical training. Her black hair is kept in braids, though these are rarely seen from their place underneath her headgear. |

| Personality | •Candice was once very open and friendly, with a loving heart; the epidemic snatched up that personality and crushed it into fine powder. She has shut herself off from others, refusing to become close with anyone to avoid further pain and trauma. A fortress of ice protects her heart; it would take a lot of time, patience, and understanding to convince her to leave it. Even then, she will never return to the bright-eyed girl she used to be, a thought which brings her no end of pain and is shoved far away as a result. •When interacting with others, she’s not necessarily mean or cruel-more so neutral, and difficult to read. Everything she says is carefully measured to provide emotional distance. Candice doesn’t hold lengthy conversation of any kind if it’s not about serious matters; she doesn’t really know how to relax anymore, or have fun. However, it’s not that difficult for her to become vicious if she’s pushed far enough, and when Candice lets her bitterness show, it’s sharp enough to cut through glass. •She has intense survivor’s guilt, regretting that she has lived when so many of Snowpoint’s people died; there are days where she believes she should have died too. The early days of the epidemic and the destruction of Snowpoint are memories that will always haunt her. Being unable to protect her Gym Pokemon is another wound that will never heal; she tries not to think of the little Snover or Sneasel, nor the Abomasnow that was the child of her Yeti, and especially not the Weavile that was one of her oldest friends. The horror and despair Candice endured lives on in her nightmares, unable to be escaped. •Once she has her sights set on a goal, good luck getting her to change course. Candice is stubborn to a huge fault; she struggles to place her trust and determination with other people, and values her own ideas more. This was true even before the epidemic. She’s never been a person who is eager to follow the lead of anyone else, and when cooperating with others, Candice has to actively work to not push others out of a leader role. •As mentioned in her history, she’s cool (pun unintended) under pressure and actively thinks/plans better when there’s a time limit or in a fast-paced situation. When left to her own devices, Candice tends to become listless instead, and has a harder time focusing on the task at hand. She’s learned to work around that shortcoming over the years, but still vastly prefers to have some kind of weight on her shoulders driving her forward. •Unsurprisingly, she loves cold weather, and despises warmer climates; Candice feels more at home in snow and ice than anywhere else, seeing it as beautiful. She respects this environment too, especially the danger it poses, hence her large amount of subzero gear and reluctance to travel in it for any significant amount of time. However, even these feelings have been twisted in the past few years. Underneath the familiarity and appreciation, she’s developed a angry, sickening feeling towards her beloved Snowpoint in particular due to it being a site where intense trauma occurred. Any place with similar weather would probably drag back those intensely negative feelings. •Though headstrong in about every other way, she’s rather timid with her affections. It was Maylene who first initiated their relationship despite being her typically passive counterpart. Candice is far more shy than her girlfriend even with completely innocent gestures such as holding hands, often feeling self-conscious (though no less happy). She misses Maylene more than anyone else in the world; she’s the one person Candice doesn’t try to push out of her own head. |
