History:
Artemis was born to a Lucario, her mother, and a Blaziken, her father, who she inherited the move Blaze Kick from. Coming from a long line of powerful fighters and determined, courageous Pokemon, Artemis had high standards to live up too. From the moment she could walk, Artemis was put under strict and exhausting strength conditioning, martial arts training, and other exercises that built up her muscles and gave her stamina. This training gave her a great advantage over her opponents, for she could last long in battle and run all day without tiring. Over the course of five years she continued in the endless training, until she was deemed old enough and strong enough to go out on her own life, to become a worthy fighter, adult, and mentor. Artemis set off into the Sinnoh region, interested in the many Pokemon and people living in various parts of the region. But what fascinated the Lucario most was a group of Fighting-type Pokemon near the city called Veilstone, meeting up three times a week for practice and sparring. Intrigued, Artemis at first merely watched, nervous about showing herself to strangers, but then she greeted a handsome Blaziken with an anxious voice. She had no idea what to expect, but after showing off a bit of her fighting skills, the group whole-heartedly accepted her in. Artemis even attracted the attention and awe of a younger Vigoroth. It seemed she had finally found a place where she fit in, and that Blaziken, Zacharias, was extremely kind to Artemis. She liked him the best out of the group, but having very little experience in romance, Artemis did not notice that after awhile, Zacharias fell head-over-heels in love with her.

It was a fateful day when Artemis visited the human city called Veilstone, and decided to check out some abandoned warehouses. Zacharias saw her go in, knowing that the warehouses belonged to Pokemon smugglers, and chased after the Lucario. There was no doubt terrible things would happen if Pokemon smugglers caught her off-guard. Unfortunately for both of them, the smugglers captured the two Fighting-types, but even with their strength combined, Zach and Artemis were simply overpowered. These smugglers were no petty, weak criminals; they had strong Pokemon, larger numbers, and dirty tactics. Artemis and Zach were bound, gagged, and forced into seperate crates, trapped. The smugglers managed to ship the two Pokemon off to the Johto region, away from their lives, their friends, their family. Furious and full of despair, Artemis managed to attack their captives when they were taken out of the crates, shocking the humans and allowing few precious moments for Artemis and Zach's escape into Johto. The duo ended up running out of Olivine port and into Ecruteak City, which Artemis found a little creepy and frightening because Fighting-moves don't work on Ghosts. It was fortunate she had her other moves to help the Lucario out. At first, Artemis was angry at Zach, but after noticing how much he cared about her well-being more than his, her anger loosened up a lot. Even though they sorely missed their old lives in Sinnoh, the two knew they had to move on and start a new life in this land; they couldn't be stuck in the past and forget to live. It was then Artemis finally realized how Zach was in love with her....

It took three months for the feeling to become mutual, but like most new couples, Artemis and Zach were full of love, happiness, and energy. Unlike most couples, this stayed for a very long time. After love, it took even longer, much, much longer, for Artemis to agree to give Zach a chance to be what most loving men want; a father. Even through the pain and anxiety Artemis had to go through in her pregnancy, their love continued to endure for the long months that followed. But this happiness came to an abrupt halt when a rampaging Golem attacked Artemis, and Zach rushed to protect her. During the fiery battle, the Golem used Rock Slide...one of the rocks struck Zach on the side of the head, on his temple, killing the Blaziken instantly. Artemis cried through the night, her tears and sobs the symbol of despair, of loss, of broken love. The cold embrace of death grasping Zach seemed to affect Artemis just as much. She lost a part of her that day.....Artemis buried Zach by the ocean's shore, knowing how much he loved the sea, the lakes, the rivers. Saying her last goodbyes to her love, Artemis set off, knowing her fatherless child would need so much love and care, not having a father figure. Artemis was willing to give him or her that. Finally the birth came...without Zach, the agony was intensified, much worse, as if someone was ripping her apart. There was a lot of blood...

A son, that was what Artemis had. A little baby boy, a Riolu. She named him Flynn, the name of her grandfather who had been a strong, brave, loyal man who'd given up everything to protect the ones he loved. Now it was time for Artemis to do everything in her power to protect her newborn child, like Zach would have done. She taught Flynn how to protect himself, a bit about surviving in the wild, and told him stories of his father. Artemis shared her life story with Flynn, how she had met Zach, and how he had given his life to protect her, and by protecting her, he protected Flynn too. Artemis knew Zach was watching his soulmate and his son, she knew there was a part of him living through Flynn. Soon it would be time for Artemis to fight for her love, for one day she was taking Flynn to Olivine to visit Zach's grave when a horde of Murkrow dived down to attack the Lucario and the Riolu. Artemis hid her son in a hollow tree, refusing to let her only son die. The Murkrow were soon joined by a much stronger Flareon, but Artemis managed to avoid getting direct wounds, only burns....knowing she couldn't last any longer, Artemis tricked the Flareon using Substitute(at the time, she knew that move,) but when she returned to where Flynn had once been, he was gone. No footprints, and their was so much death she could not sense his aura...she went back to Ecruteak to search, heading away from her son. The two never found each other, ever, and Artemis was heartbroken, destroyed by sorrow. She's lost both her mate and son. Artemis headed back to Olivine, seeing the grave of Zach one last time. For months, she spent her days living in the old buildings of Olivine, but she needed a new place to stay, so she chose that old lighthouse.

Artemis headed to the Olivine lighthouse when a group of Fearow attacked her. She received several claw wounds on her legs and some on her face, but they weren't life-threatening. At least, the wounds themselves weren't. But the deadly virus she had obtained was, and it now slowly works through her body. Artemis had lost her son, her mate....and now it seems she's lost her own self.

Zach, Flynn, I'm so sorry...I couldn't protect either of you.

Her mate, lost to a rampant Golem, her son lost to an undead Tyranitar, an event unknown to the Artemis.

Her whole life, lost. A soul with so much light, gone to the virus. Showing perfectly how the epidemic can destroy, can take, can steal the life from us all.

User Notes:
-She hates seeing Blaziken because it reminds her of Zach, whom she lost before Flynn was born. She also has a deep-running hatred of Golems.

-Artemis is proud, strong, and very courageous. She's skillful and intelligent.

-She's not yet lost her mind or become deranged, since she just acquired the virus recently.
