History
Moonlight was casting strands of silver around a dark lake as two dark figures ran for their lives along the narrow stretch of land surrounding the lake and separating it from the forest. The virus had just started wreaking havoc among the Pokemon species and many Pokemon were terrified. A giant beast followed in the two figures wake, its muzzle stained in blood and the skin of its body barely holding on. The beast, with further observation, seemed to be a Dragonite but instead of its usually yellow skin and magnificent wings it was covered in a decaying sort of greenish purple and its wings lay in ruins with blood still congealed on the wounds. The two figures, a female and male Absol, carried with them an egg which they were guarding with their life. The Dragonite let out a fearsome screech and, without any other choice, the female Absol who was carrying the egg laid it in a dip between trees and then, with her mate, stood her ground as her and the love of her life were ripped to shreds by the Dragonite.
A few weeks later and the egg found itself nestled in the arms of a young male trainer nicknamed Shadow. That same day the egg hatched into a healthy male Absol but was not named by his owner. Shadow and Absol's friendship grew with each training session with wild pokemon. Absol wouldn’t leave his side for anything at all. He even refused to go inside his pokeball but that was perfectly okay by Shadow, seeing as he wasn't very social and enjoyed Absol's company. For many years the two stayed together and he had reached level 41 by his persistent training and, for his 17th birthday, Shadow was given three special TM’s for his Absol which contained Flamethrower, Shadow claw, and Flash. Absol was overjoyed and quickly learned the moves along with the one he kept which was bite.
Absol knew of the virus because he vaguely knew what had happened to his parents. Shadow’s parents had found his egg when they were living in Johto and took it back with them for their son when they quickly moved to Kanto. They thought they were done with the virus but on Shadow’s 17th birthday he also left and began to venture through the world he lived in. He was given many choices on where to begin but, since he knew nothing of the virus, he chose to start in the Johto region. He flew there on her mother’s Pidgeotto but it quickly left in fear for what laid ahead of them.
Standing maybe three feet in front of Shadow and Absol was a welcome committee and the creature didn’t seem too happy. It was a dusky, strange looking Rapidash that was covered in bleeding wounds, decaying flesh, gouged out eyes, and a mane that burned with a strange black fire. Absol quickly jumped to his trainers rescue but he threw himself in front of him. Shadow knew Absol would not survive and he begged him to save himself. He hugged him and whispered "Thank you, my friend. Stick to the shadows and escape while you still can." then quickly and broke his pokeball on the ground. The Rapidash reared up and with a screech of filth it tore off every bit of her skin with its sharp and broken hooves. Shadow snarled but couldn’t attack. He knew that his Flamethrower would only make it stronger and his other moves were too risky. The only thing left to do was for him to run and save himself like Shadow had told him to do. His heart died there that day and was turned darker than coal as he watched the Rapidash kill his trainer. He loved him and now he would never care for another trainer again. He took on his trainer's name due to how he usually is alone and how his most notable move is shadow claw.
User Note
Shadow is bitter and somewhat lacking in social skills but he helps pokemon in need although he likes to stay on his own. He is constantly blaming himself for what happened with his trainer.
