Huskary, the alt Growlithe evo

Post by Storm on Fri Nov 02, 2012 2:41 pm

Normal

Shiny

Huskary
Genders Possible M/F
Signature Moves N/A
Ability Intimidate: Upon entering battle, the opponent’s Attack lowers one stage. In a Double Battle, both opponents’ Attack are lowered. Pokémon with the Clear Body, Hyper Cutter, or White Smoke ability are unaffected. In a link battle, if both sides switch on the same turn, and first player sends out a Pokémon with Intimidate, the opponent’s Attack will be lowered before the opponent’s Pokémon switches.
Flash Fire: Activates when user is hit by a damaging Fire-type move (including Fire-type Hidden Power). Once activated, user’s Fire-type moves deal 1.5 times damage. While this ability is in effect, this Pokémon is immune to damage from Fire-type attacks and Fire-type Hidden Power (accuracy and effect from these moves are ignored). For Fire-type Pokémon with this ability, Will-O-Wisp activates this ability without having an effect. If a non-Fire-type Pokémon has this ability, Will-O-Wisp will activate the ability and will have an effect.

A few notes:

While you have a very sound idea, the design itself is a little lacking. It simply looks like a striped husky, not a husky pokemon. I was unaware that it was indeed a Fire/Ice type until I read it in the info and in the moveset-- perhaps incorporate more fire into it? Fire colors, maybe? I'm not sure, but like I previously stated, it simply looks like a dog and not a pokemon.

Otherwise, for your first legitimate fakemon submission, good job.

I have to agree with Lugia. I will take another look once you make the required edits.

I've edited so it looks more pokemon, and changed the colours.
I'll try something else if you still think it could use some work.

Unfortunately, with the colors picked, it simply looks like a mutated/ strangely marked Arcanine. I'd suggest using its special typing to your advantage, as no other pokemon has that particular and peculiar typing. Try incorporating both fire and ice attributes and colors. You've gone with either a ice color or fire color. Use both, since it IS both.

I know you've had some difficulty with this design; and I think you've made some decent changes to it.
However, I believe it's too busy right now.
The mane and teeth are nice. Even the icicles aren't bad.
But I think the flames on its' legs are too much to add onto this.
I think it has enough contrast between the blue, orange and icicles to show that it is a dual.

Thoughts, fellow admins?
Dara, no need to change it until we get a consensus, to save yourself some work.

I agree with Sui. I think the icicles serve just fine without the fire. But maybe less of a mullet look with the mane? That would help alleviate the busy because I look at it now and see more of an 80s glam rock style. Not sure that's what you were going for.

Oh, didn't even notice the image was edited. lol Sorry broskis.

I think the mane and the fire along the heels are a bit much as well. I say take that off and the rest looks fine; loving the icicles B]

I personally like the glam rock look that’s going on, but that’s probably just me. xD

But I will agree with it looking a little too busy. I’d say stick to either just the icicles or just the fur on the legs, removing the flames completely. As for the mane, I think some restyling wouldn't hurt.

How about making the mane of fire and the feet more like rapidash's and mostly, if not completely covered in flames? The tail could be a fusion of both, with icicles attached to the haunches and the tail fire/fur.

Took me awhile to think up some change's, but here is my next design.

The flameing ice crown was one of my idea's when I first came up with this, but I had some difficalty with it, so I had scraped the idea. Decided to give it one more go.

Much better, the crown gives it a sense of majesty.

I vote up.
