Solve That Puzzle! Empty Solve That Puzzle!

    Post by Negative10 Mon Jul 11, 2011 1:50 am

Ever wanted to give your brain a workout? Ever wanted to see if you are a mastermind? Ever wanted to see if you could get your brain to explode? Then you should Solve That Puzzle! :D I don't care how cliché that was, but it makes sense, so I'll go with what I have. This is a pretty simple game, if you can call it that. I post a puzzle (or other people can, if you want), you answer what you think is right, and I'll put the correct answer two days after I've put the original puzzle.

The prize is... bragging rights! :3 Just imagine, out of the ten people who try to answer, you're the only person to get it correct! You feel so victorious, you feel like dancing like this! (Ignore the random Torchic)
    Solve That Puzzle! Dancingpikachu

:D I would dance too. And, if you can do anything about it, please don't put another puzzle on when there's already a puzzle. D: It would confuse people and create a mess we could have prevented. Also, I'll rate the puzzle out of three; one being the easiest, three being the hardest. That's pretty simple, so let's go on to the first puzzle!

    Puzzle difficulty: One

What is this glass: half empty, or half full?

Neither, because the glass gets bigger as it goes up, so technically, it's under half. c:

I think it's half full! Because it couldn't be half empty if there was no water to fill it!

The answer depends upon your point of view. An optimist would say it was half full, while a pessimist would say it was half empty.

( Personally, I'd just knock the darn thing over. )

I do agree with both Slange and Radiation on their answers pertaining to this particular conundrum. Certain types of humans would have certain outlooks, but from the dimensions of the glass, it would be obviously less-than-half-empty/full.

It doesn't matter if it's half empty of half full, all I know is my throat hurts and I need some of it!!

    Post by Negative10 Thu Jul 14, 2011 2:53 pm

Yes! You are all correct! It indeed does depend on the person's outlook and their subconscious. In the end, there is no real answer.

    Puzzle Difficulty: One

Three people played Memory with 20 total cards of 10 pairs.

Person A said: "I matched 10 pairs in a row from the start."

Person B said: "I matched nine pairs in a row from the start."

Person C said: "I matches eight pairs in a row from the start."

One person is a liar. Which one?

I'd say person B is lying, because if there's ten pairs of cards and he got nine of em right. Wouldn't he have gotten that last pair too?

Whoops, it's been nearly four days now. ^^; And yes, Radiation Fox, true to that. I need to get harder puzzles. (I lost my puzzle book, so please bare with me as I just search it up on Google for now)

    Puzzle Difficulty: Two

Seeing as how you're zipping through all the ones, give it a go at this one! You find a chest that has a weird lock. With the lock there is a note to unlock it:

"Open with a two, but leave the four." Can you crack the case? Oh, and pressing the two button and leaving the four alone won't work. I've already tried that. How else do you open this weird treasure chest?

Reply with which numbers you do press.

I would say to press 1,2,3 then 6,9,8,7, and finally 10, 13,14,15. Those numbers are in the shape of a "2", leaving the four alone. :)

    Puzzle Difficulty: One

Because I'm sure you've all heard this one before.

    Mary's mum has four children.
The first child is called April.
    The second May.
    The third June.
What is the name of the fourth child?

Yes, I guess that was too easy!

    Puzzle Difficulty: Two point three

There are many variations of this kind of puzzle- read the words carefully and visualize in your mind. ;D

A farmer was going to town with a fox, a goose and a sack of corn. When he came to a stream, he had to cross in a tiny boat, and could only take across one thing at a time. However, if he left the fox alone with the goose, the fox would eat the goose, and if he left the goose alone with the corn, the goose would eat the corn. How does he get them all safely over the stream?

    okay.

    (Farmer+Corn+Goose+Fox)---------------------(Nothing)
    (Corn)(Fox)--------(Farmer+Goose)---------- (Nothing)
    (Corn)(Fox)---------(Farmer)-------------(Goose)
    (Corn)---------------(Farmer+Fox)--------(Goose)
    (Corn)--------------(Farmer+Goose)---------(Fox)
    (Goose)--------------(Farmer+Corn)----------(Fox)
    (Goose)--------------(Farmer)---------------(Fox)(Corn)
    (Nothing)------------(Farmer+Goose)---------(Fox)(Corn)
    (Nothing)----------------------(Farmer+Goose+Corn+Fox)

And then everyone die. The end! :D
