Smith the Aggron and Jude the Zoroark (Stark Team) Smithaggronresize

    Smith
    Item None at present
    Gender Male
    Age Aging adult (early 60s)
Species #306 Aggron, the Iron Armour Pokemon
    Height 6'11"
    Weight 793.7lbs
Pokédex Entry "While seeking iron for food, it digs tunnels by breaking through bedrock with its steel horns."
    Level 64
Ability Sturdy (it cannot be knocked out in one hit)
    Nature Brave (+Attack, -Speed)
Characteristic Somewhat of a clown (+Speed)
    Moves Iron Tail (level-up)
    Stone Edge (TM)
    Superpower (egg move)
    Dragon Claw (TM)
History The little Aron was born unbeknownst to the life of arduous training and hard battles that lay ahead. The humans in strange spacemen-like suits all around him treated the small Steel-type like he was a killing machine right from the moment he could walk. They forced him to learn TM moves that were far stronger than his capabilities and threw him into battle against far stronger and bigger opponents. It wasn't until Smith was a little bit older that he realised that the humans around him were actually part of a group called Team Galactic, and that his training was mandatory for the plan they were concocting.

However, he remained ignorant of what they were planning and simply tried to live out his life the way that it had turned out. For the first few years of his life he lived only to battle and to impress Darren, his personal trainer. He had to admit that he loved this life, and as he evolved and got stronger he found that he could use his powerful moves more to his advantage. The battles seemed to get easier with every one. Smith was sure that he would be happy to "kick the shit out of things" for his whole life ... that is, until he met Faralda.

They brought in the timid Garchomp one day, bound by chains. Smith had just finished off the Tyranitar he was battling when he caught her eye; it was full of fear, and wet tears flowed from them. Smith was confused why she was acting like that, and later managed to sneak off from training to go and see her. She was chained up inside a cage that was too small for her large frame. She introduced himself to him as Falalda and told him that she had been dragged forcibly from her home in Victory Road after watching the Galactic goons kill several members of her family. Shocked that the humans he'd been working for all these years would do such a thing, Smith decided that he wouldn't be their pawn any longer and decided to try and come up with an escape plan for them both. He didn't want to end up committing any atrocities like that...

It was several weeks before Smith found an opportunity for them both to escape. Many of the grunts had gone out on a mission somewhere and the HQ was only protected by a few guards. After smashing open Faralda's cage, the two of them managed to get out without causing too much mayhem. Once in the city, they fled towards the forest before they attracted too much attention from any locals. Being undercover of the moonlight worked to their advantage.

Once they were free, Smith decided that he would stay with Faralda and the two of them became very close. After living together in Mt.Coronet for a while, Faralda one day announced that she would soon lay an egg. Delighted at the news, Smith decided that he liked this life a lot more. Although he still liked to challenge anything that came along to "a quick thrashing", he loved Faralda and eagerly awaited the birth of their child.

But the peace was not to last. One day, enormous number of Team Galactic members showed up at Mt.Coronet, and launched  a massive attack on them as soon as they were spotted. Smith immediately told Faralda to take the egg and leave, saying that he would catch up with them later. At first she hesitated, but her faith in her mate soon allowed her to leave. Smith fought with every ounce of his power to stop the Grunts from following her, even going so far as to pummel them over the head with rocks and kill them. Once he was satisfied that he'd defeated enough of them (including their Pokemon), Smith left Mt.Coronet and tried to find Faralda and his child, but he never did. Little did he know, they had made it all the way to Johto.

Smith continued to roam all over Sinnoh for many years. When the infection arrived, he fought alongside the survivors but was quickly overwhelmed. He fled to the furthest reaches of the region and now resides in Stark Mountain, continuing to just 'live for the day' and hoping to one day be reunited with his mate and son.
Appearance Typically for his species, Smith is huge, bulky and muscular. He has scars, but many have faded or reside in the form of small dents in his armour. These are barely noticeable unless one looks closely. The only scars that are obvious are horizontal ones in the middle of each palm.
Personality Smith is a Pokemon who loves to make his presence known to others. Loud-mouthed and strident, the Aggron's mouth matches the size of his ego. Very confident in his abilities, Smith loves to battle anything that crosses his path, whether it is undead or not. His battling 'strategies' are questionable - Smith mostly relies on brute strength alone to win his confrontations. His methods can vary from using attacks to simply punching something until it stops moving. Having a large temper doesn't help - it doesn't take much to spur Smith into action. His brutality in the face of battle can lead others to question whether his intentions are actually good.

They are - beneath his iron-hard exterior, Smith has a kind heart. The Aggron, although bad-tempered and moody, is widely accommodating to Pokemon who don't wish to cause trouble. Although naturally territorial, he has been known to allow others onto his turf for the benefit of protection. A gentleman at heart, Smith is especially courteous to female Pokemon and is generally polite and considerably calmer when in their presence ... considering they return that respect, of course. He looks out for the young and the weak, and will protect them as well as he can.

Smith has a very odd sense of humour, finding things amusing that others wouldn't. For example, when faced with a dangerous battle, he will often mock his opponent and laugh (rather loudly) at their confidence in defeating him. His views of the epidemic are that it's just "another day in the arena" and sees it as a permanent challenge to his skills.

Surprisingly, Smith can be rather sympathetic towards others, especially if he can relate to their problems. He is capable of giving sound and, sometimes, very wise advice. Betraying Smith or anyone he cares about is a very bad idea - the Aggron hates nothing more than disloyalty. He is able to hold onto grudges for a very long time, sometimes for life, and doesn't ever forget a betrayal. Stubborn, quick-tempered and very violent when angered, treating Smith with any sort of disrespect is highly inadvisable.
User Notes --Father of Rocket. He has no way of knowing that his son is still alive.
--His own father was a Druddigon (now deceased).
--Faralda, unbeknownst to Smith, is dead.
--He was bred and raised purely for power, hence his highly offensive moveset.
    --Swears ... a lot.
--He has a soft Scottish accent.

History Jude was born in Unova as part of a large clan of members of his own evolutionary family, including a few from other families such as Liepard and Mienshao. His father, a Ninetails who had been a traveler from Kanto, had left the clan before he was born, leaving his mother to care for her two mischievous babies. As a young Zorua, Jude was a typical child - happy, curious and eager to explore the surrounding world. The clan kept themselves protected from Trainers and hunters by casting impressive illusions, such as conjuring giant Pokemon, which usually kept them at bay.

The first few years of Jude's life were uneventful, the Zorua growing up alongside his brother under the loving care of his mother. As they got older, they were allowed to wander off into the nearby woodland as long as they promised not to go too far. Most of these miniature adventures went well, but one day, when Jude was a teenager, he and his brother were ambushed by an aggressive Houndoom. Scrambling to get away, they both ran in opposite directions, thinking that the other was following. Jude managed to escape the hungry canine, but grew scared when he realised that his brother was no longer with him. He howled out for help, hoping that his mother would hear and come to his rescue.

Help came, but in a completely different way than Jude had hoped. Two human men appeared and snared him up in a net before he could run. They pushed the struggling Zorua into a cage in the back of their van, closed the door and drove off. Jude heard one of them say, "This is just what the boss wanted!" He lay terrified in his cage, fearing that they were the horrible poachers that his mother had always warned him about and that they were going to take him to a lab and torture him. Needless to say, Jude was surprised (and relieved) when the van pulled up outside an enormous, colourful tent.

The men took him out of the van and carried his cage inside, where a friendly-looking man in a top hat greeted them and made sure that Jude had not been harmed during the journey. Taking the Zorua's cage from them, he introduced himself to Jude as Ringmaster Barrett, the boss of the Cirque du Pokemon, a circus that was currently travelling across the regions and performing to huge audiences worldwide. Instantly hating the idea of being on stage, Jude put up a fight when he was transferred to his larger cage and had to be forced in by two Pokemon handlers. That night, Jude lay awake while a janitor sat opposite his cage listening to a song the radio. The janitor suddenly rose from his chair, spilling his bottle of alcohol, just as the Ringmaster wandered past. "I know what you can call him!" he said. And thus, Jude earned his name.

Initially, Jude was a very difficult Pokemon to train for the circus act he had been assigned to, which was performing illusions of various different Pokemon. He was very timid and distrustful of his human trainers, despite the fact that they were all kind to him. He simply despised the idea of performing in front of all those people when his skill at casting illusions was far from perfect at his young age. The trainers persisted with him, however, and one day he successfully conjured an illusion that he was a Rattata. He was showered with praise for his breakthrough, and encouraged to try and transform into other Pokemon. Jude began to enjoy the praise and admiration that he received, and even earned approval from some of the other Pokemon who lived and performed with the circus. Gradually, Jude got used to his new life with the circus, but missed his mother and brother immensely and wished he could let them know he was all right.

Jude's first performance in the Centre Ring was a big success. He leapt from one podium to the next, transforming into a wide array of exotic and rare Pokemon from other lands. Shortly after the show, the circus packed up and boarded a train for the next region, Hoenn. Excited to be seeing another land, Jude practiced his illusions with his trainers every day until they were flawless. The show in Hoenn was an equal success to that of the one in Unova, and the trainers and performers were starting to treat Jude as one of the star attractions. He was very popular with the audience, particularly the children, and even had some photos taken with them. Jude loved his new life, and enjoyed making everybody happy.

A few years past, and the circus continued to travel from one land to the next, dazzling its audiences. In between shows, the trainers often took the Pokemon on outings and allowed them to battle one another. By the time Jude was fully grown, he had evolved into Zoroark. After evolving, his illusions were noticeably easier to cast, and his trainers thought he was ready to take on a challenge. For the final show of the tour in Sinnoh, they asked him if he would perform the illusion of that of the legendary Pokemon Suicune, expecting it to make their last performance the best one yet. Jude was apprehensive at attempting something so huge, but tried his hardest.

A few weeks before the final show was to start, a news bulletin about a virus of some sort that had been detected in various regions made everybody nervous. Ringmaster Barrett only considered cancelling the show at first, but a huge panic broke out as they witnessed a screaming news reporter being hacked to pieces by a crazed Bisharp on live TV ... and this was just a few miles away at Solaceon Town. They started packing up to leave Sinnoh immediately, but surely enough, the undead were faster. The tent was torn to pieces as the hordes of diseased Pokemon stormed inside, eager to sink their fangs into the many living bodies within. Jude fought to protect the Ringmaster and his two trainers, despite the little skill in battle that he had. Watching them all die one by one was too much for the young Zoroark, the sight of their blood petrifying him on the spot. He didn't snap back into reality until Vince, a Flygon who starred in the show alongside him, carried him away from the carnage.

Vince carried the trembling Jude several miles away to Sandgem Town, where the two of them managed to find shelter from the undead who, within a few weeks, were reigning supreme. The two of them grew very hungry and did not dare to venture out for food very often. Two months after the outbreak, Vince departed to search for the food that they so desperately needed, leaving Jude safely behind in the shelter. The Zoroark waited patiently for his friend to return, but he never did.

Eventually, Jude ventured out to look for his friend, only to be chased almost immediately by a pack of hungry undead Poochyena. After using his illusions to escape, he continued to wander the region long after Vince disappeared, wondering what on earth to do with himself.
Appearance An ordinary Zoroark with no defining marks, scars or features.
Personality On initial inspection, Jude appears to be a quiet, mild-mannered individual. The Zoroark is very polite and well-spoken, always treating others with curtesy. Despite being quiet and rather shy upon first meetings, once he gets used to a new friend he opens up immensely, becoming a social, loyal member of the group. Jude loves the company of others, and will stick to another group of survivors for as long as he can not only for his own protection, but because he feels a great need to help and assist other survivors like himself.

After spending half of his life taking orders, Jude is naturally docile and will follow most orders without an argument, except those that he deems to be immoral. He is sensitive to the needs of others and will do all he can to make them happy with him. He loves to feel a sense of achievement and adores receiving praise. Despite his age, Jude still possesses a playful nature at times and is easily entertained.

Jude is not a very good fighter and he knows it. As such he will not battle unless it is absolutely necessary. While he is confident about his illusory skills, asking him to battle is a prompt for a nervous response from the Zoroark. While he will attempt to protect friends to the best of his abilties, he knows that it is probably wisest to act as backup while the more experienced and powerful Pokemon do most of the fighting.

Jude reacts very badly to the sight of blood, gore or dead bodies, and will avoid seeing or inhaling their scent at all costs since it often makes him vomit. He is terrified of the undead and will avoid them as much as possible. Since the start of the epidemic, Jude is extremely cautious of his surroundings and as such he finds it very difficult to travel alone. He struggles to cope with a mild case of paranoia that he cannot sleep because he'll be killed, and is almost always convinced that he is being watched. As a result he suffers from insomina and is always weary. Cautious in the extreme, Jude is only remotely comfortable when he is in a group.

On more than one occasion, Jude has suffered from mild to severe cases of depression, which has escalated since being isolated in the epidemic. He has thought several times about suicide, and sometimes becomes very bleak and bitter about the state of the world. These bouts of depression are increasingly common in his solitude, and is another reason why he wants to find some survivors to join forces with. He is very, very lonely, and knows that finding friends is the key to curing his mind of the sometimes terrible thoughts that flow through it.
User Notes --As mentioned in the history, Jude's father was a Ninetails.
--Name taken from the Beatles song 'Hey Jude'. The song playing on the radio in the history could be the same one ... or it could be a random choice by the tipsy janitor. Your choice. :p
--Ringmaster Barrett was named after Norman Barrett MBE, a well-known ringmaster here in the UK.
--Hopes one day to master his Suicune illusion.
--Is worried sick about Vince and his family, and hopes to one day know the truth about what happened to them.

My only note is that when a Zoroark casts its illusions, it only takes on the appearance of an object, person, or pokemon. Not its abilites. He would not be able to fly like a bird or swim like a fish simply because he appears to be one. Underneath the projection he is still all Zoroark. Those notes and such an ability will not be allowed for a Pokemon that cannot physically transform or use the move Transform.

This is also the reason why when you hit a Zoroark the illusion fails, because when you see a fish and hit fur you know what you attacked isn't a Magikarp.
