Una was captured in the northern regions of Johto as a Seel. She was raised by an energetic and happy-go-lucky trainer named Meredith, who was constantly warm and affectionate. Una lived peacefully with her trainer and her team as they toured Johto’s gyms and trained. Una was always supported and relied heavily on teamwork and her trainer’s strategy to win battles.
Una’s halcyon life was shattered when May rolled around and the infection spread across Johto. Her trainer boldly tried to use her pokemon to repel oncoming swarms of infected, but since the team could not use their teamwork, which was formulated for battle on at most several other pokemon, effectively against the swarm. Una battled fiercely, and had to witness the horror of her teammates and trainer, as well as other trainers and pokemon who resisted the undead, get overcome by the infected and begin walking again as bloodthirsty beasts. Una’s trainers last words were for Una to escape and live to help other living pokemon, and, heartbroken, Una escaped into the waters, swimming quickly to evade undead and Resting deep underwater for short periods of time instead of sleeping in the dangerous tides.
