Great Marsh/Morning (17)

Martha swallowed her mouthful of berries and immediately felt rejuvenated. Virgil asked if they were all ready just as she was wiping the juice off her chin. "I am!" she replied brightly, nodding her head. "Thank you for the berries, Mum. I can't remember the last time I had such a yummy breakfast!"

She noticed that Arceus and Fynne were feasting from another tree nearby. Slowly and carefully so she didn't scare Fynne, Martha toddled up to them. "I don't know if you heard, but we're ready to go now," she said, her voice gentle and hushed. "Are you?"

Great Marsh/Morning (17)

Amita sighed softly at the words being toss at her, first, by mom and then by Virgil. She just nodded and upon seeing how uncomfortable Virgil was of her being so near, Amita back away and ate some berries. She thought that maybe she should just leave so that she wouldn't make everyone else so uncomfortable around her. But as she looked at everyone she knew she couldn't, at least not now, she is going to help them all escape this place and then, if they are all still uncomfortable around her, she will leave. She gave another soft sigh, and after she ate her berries, she flapped her wings to take off into the air once again to watch out for any trouble coming towards the group.

"So what'cha talkin 'bout? Anything ya mind sharing. I notice you two are always talking, speak up a bit, let others join in."

Rhea turned hard on Carmen and lowered her face until it was inches from the little Charmander's. She huffed, and bared her teeth to the arrogant child. "Do not presume that your place is with the adults," she growled out angrily. "If it were something that I wanted to share with you, I would have told you. Now wouldn't I?" She snarled again and rose up to her full height, staring down her nose at the petulant child. She had enough of that nonsense, so it was time the child learned her place.

"Thank you for the berries, Mum. I can't remember the last time I had such a yummy breakfast!" Rhea turned to Martha and her gaze softened, giving a small smile to the little fluff ball. She liked Martha, so she couldn't still be mad when looking at the bright ray of sunshine. Everyone seemed to try and get Arceus and Fynne over to them, when Rhea herself had only motioned to see if they were ready. She wasn't trying to pressure them, so she felt she might need to step in if the shark freaked out.

When everyone was back together Rhea gave everyone a once over to make sure they were ready to go. She nodded her head to the group and turned back around to start making her way to the forest. Come Hell or high water, she was getting the hell out of this place. "You are gonna-" a loud, terrible shriek echoed overhead. Rhea looked up to see the large bird swooping down on them. Goddammit! Could she not catch a break? She felt her anger rising at being denied her exit, and the glow of an Outrage began surrounding her.

This bitch was gonna get it for getting in her way.

Great Marsh| Morning

The loud screech above made Virgil's fur stand on end, and as the Braviary lunged out of the tree, Virgil knew he was doomed. Those crimson eyes were fixated on him, and there was not a goddamn thing he could do... He knew the voracity in which braviary sought and killed their prey, and in his weakened state, running was useless.

So, he braced himself for the impact.

Sharp talons ripped into his back and hind legs, but thankfully, his front paws were free. He saw the patriotically colored head look down, and as it neared him to feast, Virgil swiped as hard as he could. His claws ripped open the bird's right side of the face and eye, allowing blood to spill everywhere. Astonished, the bird reared back, but kept his awful grip on Virgil's frail body. "Let GO of me, dammit!" he cried in vain, slashing at the bird's feathers, trying to bring him down.

Great Marsh/Morning (18)

Martha squealed in fright and instinct threw her into a nearby bush as the huge, undead bird swooped down upon them. Peeking out between the leaves, she gasped as the Braviary dived towards Virgil and tried to peck the Liepard's face. Martha took a deep breath, puffing out her chest. Virgil was her friend and she wasn't about to let some overgrown bird hurt him! She had to be brave for her new family...

A hardy scowl crossed the Flaaffy's face as she stomped out of the bush and faced the Braviary. Thankfully her attacks meant were long-ranged so she didn't have to get too close. The orb on the end of her tail began to glow as she used Charge to increase her power. When it was shining intently and small sparks flickered from it, she unleashed the strongest ThunderShock she could, being very careful not to hit Virgil by mistake.

The attack hit its intended target. The Braviary screeched in pain as the electricity coursed through its body. Martha felt satisfied that her attack had caused considerable damage seeing as she knew the a Flying-type's major weakness was electricity. However, the bird kept its huge talons embedded within Virgil's back, so Martha used Charge again before using ThunderShock again.

"Let him go, you monster!" she yelled as electricity exploded from her body once more. She would keep up the attack for as long as it took. As long as the Braviary kept well away from her, she would be fine, just fine...

Great Marsh/Morning (18)

Amita noticed the bird right when the others did and knew that it meant trouble for the group. She dived down and began to glow blue as she used her Brave Bird attack so that she will get to the Braviary quickly. She saw the bird Pokemon pick up Vigil, which upset Amita because one the Liepard was getting hurt and two she couldn't use her strong attack to end the Braviary. So she did the next best thing, when she was close enough to the bird, and without him seeing her, she used her wings in a Wing Attack to cause the Braviary to let go of Virgil. When this happened Amita used Aerial Ace hoping she will reach Virgil in time for him to land on her back. She knew cat's can land on their feet but she didn't want to risk Virgil getting more injured as he does so. To keep the Braviary distracted while she tries to catch Virgil, Amita opened her beak and let a ball of dark energy surround it before she sent it at the eagle Pokemon.

Great Marsh|Morning
(19)

The power pulsing around her doubled as Rhea watched Virgil being carried off. Her fury spiked, and her Outrage was now waving erratically, threatening anything nearby. This thing decided to carry off one of her kids and she was not going to stand for it! Everyone jumped in on the attack, forcing Rhea's hand. She couldn't move until all of her kids go the fuck out of the way! She didn't want to kill them, but they were making it very difficult not to. Especially when Martha fucking sent an electrical attack at the two while they were in the air. A very bad idea.

Finally, her chance, and it came in the form of Arceus. She launched an attack that severed the offending bird's legs and sent Virgil plummeting. In her current state she knew she wouldn't be able to get to him without dropping all of her power, and she wanted that thing dead. She could only pray that Virgil would hold up through the fall. She glanced to see the Braviary attack Arceus with its beak, landing a sharp blow to her head, and Rhea winced in sympathy. But it didn't seem to phase the bug as she then hurled the creature right at her.

Perfect.

As her target approached, Rhea unleashed her Outrage, the tendrils of energy beating the feathered fiend into the ground. It lay there for a moment before turning its bloody gaze towards the Kangaskhan, screeching its fury. It body was badly damaged from the multiple attacks it took, and the outrage had all but drained its strength. The Motherly Pokemon looked at her fallen child, then back at the bird, and a flash of something passed through her vision. Something like this had happened before...

Angry, she clawed at her eyes to make the vision vanish and glared at the Braviary once more, a snarl forming deep in her throat. She formed in one hand a Mega Punch, the light wrapping around her clawed fist menacingly. Standing over the bird she gave a murderous smile before unleashing the power in her fist right at its ugly head. Its skull crushed under the force of the blow, thick blood and brain matter coating her claws. She twisted her fist and dug her claws in before yanking back as hard as she could, effectively removing its head completely. She wasted no time tossing the thing aside and rushing towards where she saw Virgil fall, desperate to see if he was alright. "Virg...please be alright..."

Great Marsh| Morning

The battle was a blur, most of it him trying to keep the braviary's lethal beak away from his head and neck. However, during this time, he had chanced a glance at the ground, and saw electricity shooting up at them from Martha. His eyes widened in fear; what was she thinking?! "NO!" It was the only word he managed to get out when the charged thundershock hit the braviary, and since the damn bird was holding him, it tore through him as well.

A pain yowl escaped him, his eyes shutting as he tried to keep himself conscious through the attack and the blood loss. Thankfully, he guessed, most of the blood was being kept in by the bird's talons. However, that quickly changed. Arceus did some sort of attack -his vision was impared by the braviary being in the way- and suddenly, he found himself falling. Instinctfully, he tried righting himself in mid air, flipping so his legs were to hit the ground first. However, he'd noticed too late that he was falling, and landed hard on his side, knocking the wind out of him.

His lungs stung, his body hurt and the bird's legs were still in him... at least, he thought they were. The right side of his face, the one he landed on, was cut and bleeding, as well as his right shoulder. Sounds were muted and the world was a strange blur, and as his eyes lazily looked up to a blob that sort of resembled Rhea, he felt himself slipping, and soon, saw nothing but black. His eyes rolled into the back of his head and he slipped into unconsciousness, unable to answer Rhea.

Great Marsh/Morning (19)

The battle, overall, seemed to be going well, but somehow Martha felt that she was doing something wrong. Although her attacks were hitting the Braviary and weakening it, Virgil gave an unpleasant jolt whenever they did. It was only when the Liepard yelped out in pain that she realised what she was doing. She stopped attacking immediately.

She could've torn all of her wool out in frustration; how could she have been so stupid? She hadn't thought that her attacks would hurt Virgil as well. The young Flaaffy cursed herself again and again, too ashamed to do anything else for the rest of the battle.

Everyone unleashed their power at once and soon enough the Braviary was dead. Virgil dropped from the sky and collapsed. Martha held back at first, too ashamed to face everyone; surely they would all shout at her and tell her how dumb she was. They'd tell her that she was useless in battle and Martha did not want that humiliation, especially after she had tried so hard. But as everyone gathered round the Liepard and tried to rouse him, Martha's guilt overwhelmed her. She burst into fits of tears and ran over to the group. She fell and landed across Virgil's neck.

"I-I'm s-s-sorry," she sobbed, large tears pouring down her face. "I-I'm such a-an idiot. I-I was only t-t-trying to h-help, and I-I just made it w-worse!" Her wet eyes opened and looked up at everyone's faces. "S-sorry." She continued to cry, expecting them all to tell her to go away and never come back. She'd only deserve it.

Great Marsh/Morning (19)

(I guess you all just pass over my post *sighs*)

Amita was upset that she hadn't been able to make it under Virgil in time to be able to prevent him from getting hurt worst then he already had. She was so upset with herself that she really didn't pay any attention to the others as they finished the Braviary off. She was glad it hadn't been her father because that would have upset her even more then she already was. She moved to land near the others but her head bowed sadly as she went over to the unconscious Liepard. She felt so guilty for not being faster so she could have caught him on her back. At least if he had landed on her back he wouldn't be hurt even more then he already was, especially when Martha had used her electric attack. She looked up when she heard the Flaaffy apologizing about her attack and smiled at her before she used her wing to gently pat the sheep hoping it will calm her down. She then looked at Virgil and said, knowing that he may not hear her, I'm sorry Virgil. If I had been faster I would have been able to catch you before you hit the ground, but I wasn't and now your hurt more. She looked up at the trees hoping to spot some more Sitrus or Oran Berries that they could crush into a leave somehow and make some juice that the Liepard can drink while he is unconcious.

((OOC: I didn't skip over anyone's post, Rhea was just totally focused on Virg. She sees him as her adopted kid so she was REALLY pissed that he got taken, lol))

Great Marsh|Late Morning
(20)

As Rhea knelt by Virgil, see saw his eyes roll back into his head and immediately her heart seized. In her mind, she knew he was just unconscious, but to the Motherly Pokemon that didn't matter one bit. Her kid was hurt! Some stupid, worthless featherbrain had swooped down and sunk his talons into her son, carrying him off. He suffered so many injuries, not all of them from the bird, and couldn't even find the strength to stay awake. Now everyone was gathering around, Martha even threw herself on him, and Rhea's anger exploded.

She let out a loud roar, and swung her arm wide at all of them. "Get back!" she snarled. "Stay away from him!" She kept swinging widely, wanting to drive them all back and away from the Liepard. They were the ones who caused half of his pain, they needed to get the hell away from him! Virgil was hers! She scooped up the feline from under Martha, growling at the young girl as she pulled Viril into her lap. And there she sat, glaring at all of them, as she stroked his fur. He would be alright, he had to be alright. Nothing was going to take her child away from her. Especially not some god damn bird!

Not again...

((Had permission to pick up virgil from Sil))

((Sorry Saph, I wanted him to fall. :<))

Post 22

Great Marsh| Late Morning

Something... something was touching him.

His self-awareness slowly pulled itself from the oblivion of unconsciousness to realize this one simple fact. His eyes remained shut against the world, reveling in the peace that the abyss had brought. He couldn't really... hear per se, but he knew sounds were floating around him and something was touching him. It took some moments -he wasn't sure exactly how long those moments were- to pull himself further out of the comfort of the dark and back to reality, where he belonged.

"Get back!" an angry female voice roared, which could only have been Rhea. "Stay away from him!" His ear twitched in confusion; who was she talking to? His emerald eyes peeled themselves open to find him looking at the rest of the group, or at least the bird and Martha, and felt pressure on the non-wounded parts of his side. He flinched in pain and slowly raised his head.

Upon surveying what little he could see beyond the others around, the braviary was dead -good- and he could see a faint bit of purple past Martha's fluff. Was... Was that...? He looked behind him to see Rhea, and it hit him that she was petting him. He stared at her, blinked, then back to the ground. Oh yeah... he'd fallen, hadn't he? "...Where's...?" he began as he looked for the purple bug, the loud, angry one, and then it further hit him that the little obnoxious char-thing wasn't there either. Where'd they gone?

He glanced back at his wounds and saw the talons still stuck in his flesh and moved to take them out, groggily forgetting that Rhea would probably stop him.

((OOC: I didn't 'ignore' anything. Martha was just so absorbed into her own actions and thoughs that she didn't notice. Sorry if I offended anyone.))

Great Marsh/Morning (20)

Martha felt Amita's wing gently pat her back as she sobbed. She just couldn't believe that she had been so reckless. She didn't know much about battling but surely common sense would have told her that it was a bad idea. Clearly battling skills weren't the only thing she lacked.

An enormous roar caused Martha to jump, but she did not move off Virgil's neck. "Get back!" Mum bellowed. "Stay away from him!" Suddenly Virgil moved from underneath her and Martha fell flat on her face. Looking up, her face covered in tears and dirt, she saw that Mum had pulled Virgil up onto her lap ... and was glaring at Martha and growling.

She knew it. Everyone hated her. She was an idiot. She had caused even more trouble than was necessary. She began to cry harder, hiccoughing with every breath, as she staggered to her feet. She wanted to go and give Mum and Virgil a hug and say she was sorry, but the way that the Kangaskhan looked told her it was a bad idea. She looked as though she wouldn't hesitate to swipe at anyone if they took another step. Not that Martha didn't deserve it.

"I-I'm s-s-o-orry," Martha spluttered, barely able to form words because she was crying so hard. "I-I 'idn't m-mean t-to ...I'm so-sorry M-Mum!" she wailed, hoping with all her heart that the angry Kangaskhan would have pity and forgive her. If Martha was cast out of this group, she'd be done for.

She noticed with great relief that Virgil was awake, but he appeared weak. Amita was looking towards some trees and bushes nearby and Martha spotted some Sitrus Berries growing on one of them. She sniffed loudly and ran over to them, her short legs wriggling comically. She picked two berries and left one next to Mum so she could give it to Virgil, and tapped Arceus and tried to give her the other one. If she was going to get kicked out of the group, the least she could do was to help the others to recover before she went off, crawled into a hole somewhere and waited for the undead to come and kill her.

Great Marsh/Morning (20)

Amita flapped her wings in shock when mom yelled at them all to get away from Virgil. Because of this she felt as she was sure Martha was feeling right now. She felt that she mess up big time. Even though she was trying to save Virgil it didn't seem to matter with the angry Kangaskhan. She looked up in time to noticed that Martha was climbing a tree towards some Sitrus berries. Wanting to help her out the Honchkrow went under the Flaaffy and used her body for leverage for the little sheep before she let Martha down so she could give the Sitrus berries to the ones that were hurt in this battle. She could see that Martha was crying more and gently wrapped her wings around the little sheep, knowing it may be dangerous for her to do so since the sheep was of the electric-type variety of Pokemon, in order to hug the sheep and hopefully calm her down.

Rhea's anger was fading fast, quickly being replaced by sorrow and fear. Virgil was pretty badly hurt, he even still had the bird's feet in him for crying out loud, yet most of his pain was caused by the little ones they were traveling with. She stroked his fur gently, trying to be as gentle as possible while she prayed for his eyes to open. She held the cat close to her body, as though she were afraid that if she let go, he would die.

"I-I'm s-s-o-orry. I-I 'idn't m-mean t-to ...I'm so-sorry M-Mum!" Rhea looked up, her vision slightly blurred from fighting back tears, to see a pink blob in front of her. Martha...The Kangaskhan realized that she had all but attacked her other children to keep them away from Virgil, and it had frightened poor Martha. She actually liked the little sheep, and didn't mean to cause her such fear, but Virgil needed her. Surely...surely they understood that? Right?

She didn't have time to call for the little pink one as she ran, though she desperately wanted to, because Virgil started to move in her arms. She loosened her grip and looked down, meeting the unfocused eyes of the Liepard. Rhea let out a massive sigh of relief and the tears she fought so hard against finally started rolling down her cheeks. She was just so relieved to that he was alive, and awake.

But when she noticed him trying to reach around to take the talons out, which at that angle would surely cause more damage than actually help, she thwacked his head. "Don't even think it, kitty. You want them out you let someone with hands do it." She pulled a couple of the Oran berries she stashed away from her pouch and held one to his mouth. "This will help, until I can pull them loose."

Virgil's attempt to take the talons out was quickly thwarted by Rhea's firm palm, pushing his head back to where it had been. Ow. "Don't even think it, kitty," Rhea growled firmly. "You want them out, you let someone with hands do it." He gave her a small frown and was about to protest when the kangaskhan took the opportunity to shove his mouth full of berries. A muffled grunt of surprise escaped him, but he chewed the berries nonetheless.

Once he swallowed the berries, his mind felt much clearer, however, as did the talons still in his flesh. He winced in pain, then gave Rhea a good hard stare. "Well, then that fellow with hands should hurry up and get them out before I do it mys--" He turned and looked to Martha, her pink, blubbering face soaked with tears. "...Martha, are you ok?" He didn't understand why she was crying so hard... Oh God, was he that disfigured? He looked himself over and saw only the normal wounds he had before. What...?

Great Marsh/Morning (21)

Amita wrapped her soft wings around Martha again, but the Flaaffy knew that she couldn't calm down just yet; she needed to receive Mum's judgement. Was she about to point at the undergrowth and tell her to go away and never come back, or would she give her one more chance? The uncertainty was killing her and she sobbed harder, hiccoughing and coughing.

Mum had tears in her eyes and her gaze appeared to soften slightly as she looked at Martha. The Flaaffy looked straight back at her, waiting for the Kangaskhan to speak. But she didn't; instead she turned her attention to Virgil and Martha flinched as she thwacked him on the head and scolded him for trying to get the talons out of his back.

"...Martha, are you ok?" Virgil asked her weakly. She had stopped crying for a few seconds but all the emotions came flooding back as she looked at him. "I sh-shocked you, V-Virgil," she stammered. "But I d-didn't mean to. I-I was just t-trying to help you. I'm s-sorry..." She turned her wet face up to Mum and asked the big question. "D-Do you want me to g-go? I-If you don't w-want me here anymore, I can g-go..."

Amita also waited for mom's answer to Martha's question but she looked at Virgil and said quietly, I'm also sorry Virgil. I was trying to catch you so you wouldn't fall and hit the ground which will cause your more pain but I wasn't fast enough to do so. I was also trying to free you from that Braviary with my Wing Attack. Amita then grew quiet afterwards as she waited for what will happen next. She knew that Virgil will need to rest before they can move on as does everyone else that was in that battle including Arceus so she remained quiet once again. She Virgil didn't like her but she thought it would be best that she told him how she tried to help out.

"Well, then that fellow with hands should hurry up and get them out before I do it mys--" Rhea gave Virgil a sarcastic smile and tapped her chin, giving the illusion that she was thinking. "If that's how you're going to be, I can always just leave them. Pierced look kind of suits you, Virg." The Kangaskhan laughed slightly, moving to pull at the talons, when Virgil turned to Martha. Guilt washed over her once again as she remembered how much she frightened the poor girl.

"But I d-didn't mean to. I-I was just t-trying to help you. I'm s-sorry..." Rhea felt her heart clamping down as she listened to Martha panic. The pink little thing really thought that she was mad at her. "D-Do you want me to g-go? I-If you don't w-want me here anymore, I can g-go..." Rhea tried not to jostle Virgil too much when she reached out for Martha, but was unable to get close enough because of the cat in her lap. So she had to settle for holding out her hand to try and coax her. "No little one, no," she said softly. "Shh...No one's blaming you. C'mere, sweetheart."

She offered the poor girl a kind smile, and tried to wave her over, but it was then that she had an idea. "In fact, I could use your help. Poor Virgil here still has that stupid feather-head's talons stuck in him. I need to pull them out, but Arceus is hurt too. Could you get some of those berries to her while I help our little kitty?" She hoped that Martha would see that she wasn't in trouble, and no one wanted her to leave. All Rhea wanted was to keep her kids together.

Great Marsh| Late Morning

Virgil's heart went out to the traumitized little flaaffy, and his face softened to a sad smile. "You're fine, Martha... The bird hurt me much more than you did... It just surprised me is all, no need to be upset. Once Mom takes care of it, I'll be fine, I promise." He gave her a soft lick on the paw, trying to calm her down. Even at home, the crying kids always went to him, especially after his eldest sister got done punishing them.

Rhea seemed particularly used to comforting the weeping children as she instructed Martha to help Arceus.
